The Slavgorod region is situated in the south of the Mogilev oblast, 68 kilometers away from Mogilev in the basin of the Pronya and Sozh Rivers. The territory of the region is 1.3 thousand square kilometers.
The region has five rural councils. The region borders on the Chaussy, Cherikov, Krasnopolie, Bykhov regions of the Mogilev oblast, Korma and Rogachev regions of the Gomel oblast.
The region is located within the south-eastern part of the Orsha-Mogilev upland.
Major minerals are peat, dolomite, chalk, mortar sand, loam. There are eleven hydrological sites and peat deposits in the region.
